Banishment

Banishment incantations and spells empower you to reclaim your space, energy, and sovereignty from unwanted spirits, energies, or attachments.

What Banishment does

These rituals forcefully evict troublesome entities—whether a spirit attached to your body, haunting your home, or lingering negativity—and seal the space against return. They work by naming your authority, cutting energetic cords, and raising protective barriers.

When to Use Them

  • A spirit feels "stuck" to you, causing fatigue, bad dreams, or intrusive thoughts.
  • Unexplained activity (knocks, shadows, cold spots) disrupts your home or altar.
  • After psychic attacks, curses, or heavy emotional residue from others.
  • To clear a space before major rituals, like consecrating your scrying mirror or new compact tool.

Core Principles

Every banishment here follows a simple structure: cleanse the target (self/space), command departure with firm words, sever ties, and ward against return. Tools like salt, smoke, sound, or flame amplify the words, but your will is the true force.

Types Included:

  • Personal attachment banishings (like Cord-Cutting Attachment Banishment for spirits latched to you).
  • Home and space clearings (for property hauntings or stagnant energy).
  • Tool-specific rites (cleansing mirrors, altars, or new ritual items).
  • Protective wards to maintain the banishment long-term.

How to Use Them

Speak with conviction, adapt names (Hekate, ancestors, elements), and pair with your preferred tools—salt for earth, smoke for air, or mirrors for reflection. Repeat as needed until the air feels still and light.

Test one incantation tonight; your power grows with each use.

Use while cleansing yourself (smoke, salt bath, egg/limpia, or visualization of light around your body). Speak clearly and with authority:

  1. Before: Surround yourself with a circle of light in your mind and call any allies (ancestors, deities like Hekate, guides) you trust to stand with you.
  2. During: As you repeat the incantation, see cords, hooks, or shadows being ripped out of your field and burned, washed, or dissolved. Salt on your skin, a cleansing bath, or smoke over your body can help anchor this.
  3. After:
    • Fill yourself with clean energy (breath, light, grounding into earth).
    • Add protection: wear a charm, mark wards on your body/doors, and clearly state, “No spirit may attach to me without my consent.”

Spirit that clings and feeds on me,
By will and ward, I set me free.
You are not welcome in my flesh,
Nor in my blood, my bones, my breath.
I cut all cords you sank in deep,
From waking thought to guarded sleep.
By salt and flame, by breath and sea,
I cast you out and sever thee.
No hook, no chain, no hidden tie,
Remains between your shade and I.
Go from my body, mind, and soul,
You have no claim, you hold no role.
By my own power, whole and bright,
I seal my aura in warding light.
         By this command and sovereignty,
Depart at once—so mote it be.

Preparation

Choose a time when you can be undisturbed. Open at least one window or door in each room so any unwanted energy has a way out.

Gather:

  • A small bowl of salted water
  • Incense or cleansing smoke (or a bowl of water + clapping if you don’t use smoke)
  • A candle (white or protective color of your choice)
  • Optional: a bell or chime

Stand at your main entrance with everything ready. Take three deep breaths and say, in your own words, that you are about to cleanse and banish all unwanted energies and spirits from this home.

The Incantation

You will repeat this as you walk through each room, moving counterclockwise around the space (or in whatever pattern feels like you are pushing things out).

By salt and smoke, by flame and air,
I cleanse this home of all despair.
         Unwanted spirit, shade, and fear,
By my command, you leave from here.
From door to door, from floor to roof,
I cast you out in word and proof.
No lurking bane, no hidden guest,
May dwell within this sacred nest.
By earth below and sky above,
I seal this space in ward and love.
Be gone from here; you shall not stay,
By my free will—I cast you away.

You can end each room with a firm, “Out. Now.” before moving on.

Ritual

1. Light the candle and smoke

  • At the main entrance, light your candle and your incense/herbs (or ready your alternative—clapping, sound, etc.).
  • Say: “With this flame and cleansing breath, I begin the banishment of all that does not serve this home.”

2. Cleanse room by room

  • Start at the farthest room from the main exit.
  • In each room:
    • Sprinkle a few drops of salted water in the corners.
    • Waft smoke or use sound around the edges of the room, especially corners, under furniture, and around mirrors/doorways.
    • As you move, recite the incantation, keeping your intention focused on driving everything unwanted out.

3, Drive everything toward the exit

  • Move steadily from room to room, always working your way toward the open front or back door.
  • Imagine all heavy, stagnant, or hostile energy being pushed ahead of you and out through those openings.

4. Final banishment at the door
Stand in the open doorway (or at the main open window) facing outward.

  • Say:

All that is banished, go and stay gone.
This threshold is closed; your hold is done.
You may not cross, you may not cling,
By my authority, I break your ring.

  • Make a protective sign or sigil in the air over the doorway (with your fingers, athame, or wand) and visualize it locking into place.

5. Seal and bless the home
Move once more through the home, this time with gentler energy—perhaps humming, using sweet incense, or just the candle—and say in each room:
              Only peace and welcome light
May dwell within this home tonight.
              Love, protection, calm, and rest
Abide now in this sacred nest.
You are now inviting in what you do want, not just pushing things out.

Aftercare

  • Let the candle burn safely until you feel the work is complete or snuff it (don’t blow) and relight for a few days as a guardian flame.
  • Wash your hands, drink water, and ground yourself (eat something, touch the earth, or sit quietly).
  • If the spirit or energy has been very persistent, repeat this entire ritual on several days in a row to reinforce the banishment and wards.
